A club-shaped, fleshy, spore-producing structure characteristic of many species of basidiomycete fungi. The basidioma grows out of the mass of hyphae known as a
mycelium and bears the spore-dispersing structures called
basidia . Mushrooms, toadstools, stinkhorns, and puffballs are basidiomata.
